Dominick 'Lefty' Teodori and Tom Abruzzo

There are restaurants — places to eat. And there are monuments to tradition, to the heritage of immigrant parents, to the comfort foods of grandmothers and great-aunts, to the generations of family members, friends and familiar faces that have broken bread under the same roof.

Such was the case with Teodori’s Division Lounge, originally intended to be merely a garage when Alfred Teodori built it in 1948. Thanks to a stubborn, unyielding friend who insisted that the corner of 15th and Division was more perfectly suited for a tavern, Alfred and his wife, Philomena, and their young son, Dominick (known to his friends as "Lefty") gave the tavern a try, introducing pizza and homemade pasta dishes to customers with phenomenal success.

Much like the beginning of Alfred’s backyard vineyard, which still thrives, Teodori’s branched out and became widely known in Chicago and the suburbs. Building and growing on a great monument, owners Tom and Delia Abruzzo now carefully preserve and perpetuate the life of a local landmark and of the treasures of Italian Cuisine. A lively bar and an outdoor cafe (in summer months) and a place where everyone comes to know your name, Abruzzo’s is hardly just a place to eat; it is truly a monument to tradition. (says Tina Valentino, Editor & Publisher of Neighbors)

Caroline Myss Caroline Myss, Melrose Park native and current Oak Parker, is a leading voice in the field of energy medicine and human consciousness, and has been described as "the hottest voice on the New Age circuit" by Newsweek. With degrees in journalism, theology, intuition and energy medicine, she has worked since 1982 as a medical intuitive — one who "sees" illness in a patient’s body by intuitive means. Through her books, seminars and workshops, Dr. Myss helps people to understand the emotional, psychological and physical reasons why their bodies have developed illness. All three of Caroline’s books will be available for purchase and signing by the author.
