ChicaGourmets! is delighted to be joining the members of The Canadian Club of Chicago for this outstanding event! The mission of the Club, which was founded in 1942, is to foster goodwill between the people of the US and Canada.

Daniel Lagarde

Daniel LaGarde, Executive Chef at The Palmer House Hilton, will prepare a dinner that highlights Canadian food products. The dinner will feature food from different regions of Canada. Learn about the Canadian food products available in the US, as well as how Canadian ingredients affect the meals we prepare.

Daniel LaGarde, a Québec native, has great appreciation for his culinary roots. A graduate from Québec Culinary School, LaGarde has been with Hilton Corporation for thirteen years, working at four different properties (Miami, New Jersey, Washington D.C. and Chicago). He has been executive chef at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago for the past five years.

LaGarde was the grand prizewinner of the Idaho Trout Recipe Contest and named "Chef of the Year, Mauricie/Lanaudière Region," in 1992 from the Québec Chef's Association. LaGarde has had the pleasure and honor of cooking for many international dignitaries on more than one occasion: the President of the United States, Bill Clinton; the President of Israel, Ezer Wiezman; Former President of South Africa, Frederick DeClerk; Prince of Saudi Arabia, Bandar Bin Sultan; Prince of Spain, Juan Carlos; and the President of France, François Mitterand, to name a few. And now he adds The Canadian Club of Chicago and ChicaGourmets! to his list of high profile guests!


Price is $75.00 per person, for members, or $85.00 for non-members, inclusive.
